Model TH-42PZ81
I had recently purchased a Panasonic TX-32LZD85 LCD TV for my bedroom and was looking at replacing the TV in the main living area because I still have an old CRT with one of them massive backs to it. Although I do prefer LCD’s, being so happy with the Panasonic TX-32LZD85 made me buy the Panasonic TH-42PZ81 Freesat HD Plasma TV. To my surprise, I am overwhelmed with this purchase and would consider buying another if I had the room to put it somewhere. I had done some research on TV’s looking at 1080p, 100Hz, contract ratios and this Panasonic TH-42PZ81 has it all including Freesat, which no other TV offered at the time. HD channels for free from just a one off subscription fee with instillation which I just couldn’t give a miss being a major sports fan.
Another feature the Panasonic TH-42PZ81 has is something called 24p, which is Real Cinema technology ensuring no judder for on-screen movements during films. When viewing 24 frames per second material, such as that output from Panasonic Blu-ray players the image looks so sharp and crisp during static and action packed scenes.
The Panasonic TH-PZ81 is truly a stunning screen to look at as well was watching, being able to achieve a staggering 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, meaning that on screen blacks are true, deep, silky black and not the washed out grey that many other products suffer from. The Panasonic TH-42PZ81 comes equipped with a LAN Connector for connection to a broadband router, enabling internet connection for future service enhancements.
In addition, all of Panasonics PZ81 models benefit from an optical output for Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound. This means you can enjoy a home cinema surround sound experience which is amazing! So many connections and useful features compacted on just a TV screen.
I must say that this TV is somewhat impressive in more ways than one. This review does show the positive points, but to have this at home would make those points 10 times more effective. I just can’t explain how great this TV is in terms of style and picture. All you need to enjoy freesat broadcasts is a dish and cabling installed. Freesat does not require a contract or a subscription just a one-off payment for your dish and installation. There’s not much else to say except why wouldn’t you buy it?
